Calvin T asked:

in everything we do, we all experience some major stress and anxiety. for me it is something i deal greatly with especially in school. people always tell me that i freak out too much with tests but then again they are those types of people who are always laid back. any psychologist out there that can help? what can i do to lessen it? a lot of people tell me to just calm down but it is easier said than done.

You need to have confidence to overcome the stress and anxiety. If you have studied for a test, then do your very best. That’s all you can do. You are in school only for a part of your life. Take it as it comes. Believe in yourself. Look at what you have already accomplished. Don’t let this get the best of you. Good luck.

Yes life is full of stress and anxiety. There are plenty of psychiatrists out there that can help. I see one for my anxiety so there is help. Let the little stuff go. Also there is a few ways to try to relieve stress before you can get to a doctor. Take a hot bath before bed, try listening to soothing music like sounds of the ocean. They might help you some.

    Good luck

In ACT therapy the idea is that if you struggle against your anxiety it gets worse. Just do the things you want to do and accept the anxiety.
