I use exercise as my greatest stress reliever.
I then use meditation.
I have also learned to not take on more than I have to.
My job is probably one of the most stressful in the world in job classifications. I have learned that I must exercise, must sit and be quiet at least once a day, and I must always remember to try and do good for others. By doing good for others, this allows me to stop thinking about myself.

I eat. And eat some more. Don’t do that.
The best thing to do is exactly the opposite of what you want to do. I’ve started working out instead of eating and it works well.

Probably not the cheapest option, but I started going to counseling (I didn’t do it for the stress, but that was a sideline benefit). It’s been the best money I’ve ever spent and I have far less back pain!
Intermediate ways to relax are to soak my feet, sit outside and read, sometimes just getting away from the house is helpful… I have gotten massages, done yoga (worked pretty well), but all in all, I had to change my thinking towards life in order to really, truly chill out (counseling!). Good luck, glad you are looking at your options!

meditation works for many people. If you don’t know how, there are cds you can listen to that put you into a meditative state. They are called brainwave entrainment cds or something like that. i have one and it works pretty well.

Well what works 4 me is prayer, I’ve had a anxiety problem in the pass. I don’t like taking drugs, so I found friends, family 2 talk 2 that did help. Now stress can come from many areas. do not let anyone know the button 2 push that may stress u out. Then make a list of the things that stress u. Cross off the things u can change, and work on the ones u can’t. Group sessions can also help. GOOD LUCK!

Exercise releases endorphins in your system that will naturally decrease stress and anxiety. Get plenty of rest, eat healthy, and do something fun and different. As for destressing mentally, just separate the things you can and cannot change about your situation. Work on bettering the things you can change and accept the things you can’t change for what it is and know that everything happens for a reason and things will work out in the end.

I’ve been suffering from anxiety for probably 8 years now..You should find a tape on relaxation, my psychologist gave me this idea. She gave me one that went through all the parts of your body, your arms, legs, hands, feet, etc. and has you tense them and then release. Once you do it a few times, you can feel exactly where you tense up when your anxious or stressed (I found that my shoulders get really tense), and if you think about it when you’re getting those feelings, you can release the tension and it really helps.

Go to a sporting goods store and by a punching bag and some gloves. If you have stress about bills or relationship or etc., Well just put your gloves on and turn on some real hard angry music and just stand there focusing on one certain spot on the punching bag for about 5 minutes and just let every ounce of stress and anxiety flow with your energy(don’t think about nothing else) this is your “alone time” relax your hands and then tighten them up and just cut loose on that punching bag(do that for about an hour) with no interruptions-just you and the bag. when your arms feel like rubber, your mind will be clear and everything will fall into place. worrying about things in life is not healthy, have confidence in yourself it always works out and you know it, you just need to realize it.

I can think of a few good ways to reduce stress…..one of the best ways is exercise, read, and taking a warm bath. I also think writing in a journal is a great way to relieve stress, it helps to get it all out there………when you have anxiety, take a few breaths, deep ones and count to 10….if this does not relieve your anxiety you could need medication, consult your doctor…..stress and anxiety are very hard on the body…..they decrease the immune system. They take a toll on the cardiovascular system…..so dont let this get the best of you….
GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!! Take care of yourself!!

Well, you konw the first step in curing it. It is that you know that you have stress and anxiety.
Steps:
2. Think positively. THINK that you don’t have stress and anxiety anymore. Think over and over again about it. That you are fine now.
3. Do yoga everyday.
4.Meditate once a week for 15 minutes.Note that the time should not exceed 15 minutes.
5. Drink lot of water.
If you follow this you will definitely reduce your anxiety and stress.
Good luck and REMEMBER “Think Positively”!

Hi! I’m so sorry to hear you’re suffering from anxiety. If you want to try some self-help, the following steps should help eliminate (or significantly reduce) your anxiety:
1.Breathe properly - if you control your breathing, you control panic. As soon as you notice the signs of anxiety, check your breathing: breathe in slowly through your nose pushing your tummy out (to the count of 5 or so). Breathe out slowly and for a bit longer (to the count of 7 or so) through your mouth. Do not breathe rapidly or shallowly (in the chest area). This will soon restore the balance of oxygen and you will feel a lot better.
2. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy! CBT is proven to be the most effective thing for anxiety. It takes a bit of work, but it is super effective. (After 15 years of panic attacks, mine stopped completely). You can take a course for free online at:… It has been funded by NHS Scotland and has had great results thus far.
3. Try relaxation exercise tapes (progressive muscular relaxation). They really help if you practise often enough. This site has instructions on how to do it without the tapes (and other useful info):…
I hope you feel better soon. Best of luck!
