Hormones specially high levels of testosterone is converted to DHT or dihydrotestosterone. DHT triggers the oil glands to produce more oil. more oil means more bacterial growth. more bacteria means infection, inflammation and pus filled zits. Stress and anxiety compromises the immune system and this means more bacterial growth which translates into more inflammation.
